National University is a leading institution that awards more Master’s degrees to minority students than any other college in California. It is also the second largest private college or university in the state. National University was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in La Jolla, CA. Since 2001, the school has been a member of the National University System, which includes the National Polytechnic College of Science, Spectrum Pacific Learning Company LLC, National University Virtual High School, WestMed College, and National University International. National University sponsors secondary campuses around San Diego County and across the state in Camarillo, Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Redding, San Jose, Stockton, Fresno, Bakersfield, Ontario, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks, Orange and Twentynine Palms. There is also a campus in Henderson, NV and an online program that is capable of serving students from all over the world.

Academically, students at National University take classes in the Schools of Business and Management; Health and Human Services; Education; Engineering and Technology; and Media and Communication, as well as the Division of Extended Learning, Language Institute, and College of Letters and Sciences. Online programs are offered at the Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, certificate and credential levels, and the university provides certain not-for-credit extended learning courses. Areas of online study include Human Behavior, English Business, Special Education, Arabic Language and Culture, Political Science, Marketing and more.

National University also sponsors the National University Community Research Institute. This center is a public-focused platform that inspires collaboration on community and economic research, based on the principles of scholarship, service, professional development and entrepreneurship.
