Grand Canyon University was founded in 1949 in Phoenix, AZ. It is a private university that offers undergraduate and graduate programs to students on campus, as well as online. GCU is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, as well as various industry-specific organizations like the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. GCU Online utilizes the Angel technology format for each of its classes, offering students a seamless, cohesive setting to learn. Semesters last for 16 weeks, and students take two classes per semester.
In addition to learning basic skills in class, students also learn to improve their writing and communication skills through portfolio building, research projects and other innovative assignments.
