The mission of Baker College is to provide high quality education and training to help graduates find successful and rewarding careers. The school helps those with financial needs find the resources that will allow them to pursue higher education without the heavy burden of loans.
Baker College was established in 1911 by Eldon E. Baker who was inspired by the explosion of growth in Flint, Michigan. The college has expanded beyond its initial campus in Flint to include 14 campus locations throughout Michigan. For those who cannot attend courses on campus, an online program is available as well. The school maintains a “right to try” admissions policy, which can allow many who feel they don’t have the educational background to pursue higher education the chance to learn.
The college is Michigan’s largest career-focused independent college, and students can get the security of knowing that about 99% of graduates from the program have found careers related to their field. Students taking on campus courses will have access to about 140 programs and online students to about 32, giving prospective students a wide variety of choices for career pursuits. Students enrolled in the online program will also get access to a large library of resources so that they can research and study right from the comfort of their own homes.
Online study with Baker, established in 1996, comes with additional benefits as well. Students will be taught by the same high quality, accredited faculty that teach on campus and will be able to take course materials when it’s most convenient for them. Programs are designed to be highly affordable and can allow those without a large amount of resources to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields like Business Administration, Information Systems and Web Design.
